Percentile Cut-Off Replaced by Rank-Based Merit List

📅 4 November 2026  |  🩺 NEET-PG & NEET-SS  |  📊 Rank-Based Merit System

NEET-PG 2027 se percentile-based qualifying cut-off system hatane ka proposal hai. 12-member expert committee ne Supreme Court mein report di hai ki NEET-PG aur NEET-SS counselling mein ab candidates ko unke rank ke aadhar par admission milega, percentile cut-off par nahi.

NEET-PG 2027 mein percentile cut-off ki jagah rank-based merit system kaise kaam karega, jaanne ke liye video dekhein.

🔄 Kya badlega?

Feature Current system Proposed 2027 system
Eligibility Percentile-based cut-off Rank-based merit list
Result Marks aur percentile Sirf rank
Admission Qualifying percentile ke baad counselling Merit rank ke according seat allotment
Cut-off reduction Empty seats ke liye percentile kam kiya jata tha Repeated cut-off reduction khatam hone ki ummeed
NEET-SS Percentile system Rank-based system

NMC ne proposal ko in-principle approval de diya hai, lekin final regulations abhi issue nahi hue hain. Proposed system ke according result mein sirf rank declare hoga—percentile marks declare nahi honge.

❓ Kyun badlav propose hua?

Committee ne kaha ki NEET-PG ka main kaam minimum competence certify karna nahi hai—wo MBBS qualification se already establish hoti hai. Iska asli uddeshya limited PG seats ke liye merit list banana hai.

Isliye empty seats bharne ke liye qualifying percentile ko sharply kam karna—jaise 2026 mein General/EWS cut-off 50th percentile se 7th percentile par le jana—galat approach mani gayi.

📉 2026 cut-off ka reference

  • General/EWS: 50th percentile (276 marks) se 7th percentile (103 marks)
  • General PwBD: 45th percentile (255 marks) se 5th percentile (90 marks)
  • SC, ST, OBC, including PwBD: 40th percentile (235 marks) se zero percentile (-40 marks)

🎯 Aspirants ke liye kya matlab?

Rank-based system mein aapki counselling eligibility aapke absolute rank par depend karegi, na ki percentile threshold par. Isse counselling rounds ke beech cut-off drastically girne ki problem kam ho sakti hai aur seat allotment zyada transparent ho sakti hai.

Lekin abhi final rules—rank calculation, tie-breaking criteria, category reservations aur counselling process—announce nahi hue hain. Isliye 2026-27 cycle ke aspirants ko abhi current percentile-based system ko hi follow karna chahiye.

📌 Implementation Status

NEET-PG aur NEET-SS ke liye rank-based merit system propose kiya gaya hai. NMC ne in-principle approval diya hai aur 2027 counselling cycle se implementation ka target hai.
