Structure of Voter ID
In India, a voter ID card serves as a valid form of personal identification since it is issued by an official government authority. It includes the following information.
A unique Serial number (EPIC Number)
Photograph of the cardholder
A hologram containing the respective state/national symbol
Name of cardholder
Father’s Name of cardholder
Gender of cardholder
Card holder’s Date of Birth

To qualify for a Voter ID card, individuals must satisfy the following requirements.
An Indian citizen
Must be aged 18 years or above
Must have a permanent address

How to Apply for Voter ID Card Online
Step 1: Go to the official National Voters’ Services Portal (NVSP) website.
Step 2: On the homepage, locate and click the ‘Sign-Up’ button at the top right corner.
Step 3: Provide your mobile number, email address, and the captcha code, then click ‘Continue’.
Step 4: Fill in your ‘First Name’, ‘Last Name’, set a ‘Password’, confirm it, and press ‘Request OTP’.
Step 5: Enter the OTP received on your mobile number and email, then click ‘Verify’.
Step 6: After verification, click on ‘Login’. Enter your mobile number, password, captcha code, and then click ‘Request OTP’.
Step 7: Input the OTP sent to your mobile device and click the ‘Verify & Login’ button.
Step 8: Once logged in, select the ‘Fill Form 6’ option under the ‘New registration for general electors’ section.
Step 9: Complete Form 6 by entering your personal information, details of relatives, contact information, Aadhaar number, date of birth, address, and a declaration. Upload all necessary documents in the designated sections, then click ‘Preview and Submit’.
Step 10: Review all the entered information carefully. If everything is correct, click on ‘Submit’.
How to Apply for Voter ID Card Offline
Step 1: Visit the nearest State Election Office and request Form 6.
Step 2: Fill in the Form 6 with the required details.
Step 3: Submit the completed Form 6 along with a photo and supporting documents at the Election Office.
